Band: Depressive Age
"Depressive Age" began life as an excellent thrash band with some doom tendencies. On the sophomore release, the doom elements became more apparent and some progressive songwriting creeped into the mix. The next 2 releases saw the doom and thrash elements dye off gradually as the writing became more progressive and interesting. "Electric Scum" is a disc you have to hear, as it successfully combines many different musical influences while remaining very metallic. Definitely a recommended band; one that has been keeping my ears busy a lot lately.
They changed their name to D-Age, but never released anything under that monicker. Then they broke up for a few years, but have recently reformed and recorded new material. I'm not sure on the new lineup, but I know the same singer is involved.
